Our 2016 season of the Broadway musical ‘Hairspray’ is being labelled ‘stunning’ and is a sell-out. Desley Simpson, Chair of the Orakei Local Board who attended the Gala Evening, has declared it ‘a stunning success…absolutely first class’. A huge congratulations to all of the students who have worked hard to deliver a production that is exciting everyone for its all-round excellence. It is wonderful to see students enjoying their learning and going that extra mile to develop their talent and skills to such professional standards. Student delivery of such standards is of course dependent on having expert teachers and therefore, a huge thank you goes to these exceptional people:
Director – Duncan Allan
Musical Director – Rachel Larcombe,
Choreographer – Kim Santerelli
Vocal Coach – Josh Clark

In the production character Tracy Turnblad declares, ‘I’ll eat some breakfast and then change the world’. The world of Selwyn College has certainly been changed this week by this outstanding show!
