Recently, a special evening has been held at the college for our Maori students and their parents. It began with an awards ceremony for the successful Kapahaka group, tutored by Fiona Smith. These students were recognised in front of their parents for their fine performance at the Polynesian Festival in Term 1. This was followed by an opportunity for parents to learn about ‘The Selwyn Way’ in action and how they can access information about their student through the parental portal. Parents were surveyed about their views on what can help their student succeed at Selwyn. The evening reinforced the high expectations shared by the parents and the college for our Maori students.
