During the Term 1 holidays, NZQA released the confirmed NCEA results for 2009. We are delighted with the continued improvement in the achievement of our students across all NCEA levels and I congratulate the students.

These three graphs compare Selwyn College’s NCEA results over the last four years:

In 2009, there was a 13.5% increase in the number of students achieving Level 1 over the previous year. There was a 4.2% increase in the numbers of students achieving Level 2 from 2008—9. The steady percentage increase in the number of students achieving Level 3 has also continued.

Last year we set a target to significantly improve our Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy Results. This was achieved in both areas. Selwyn students performed above the National and Decile 4 statistics.
