Selwyn College staff have been deeply saddened by the untimely death of our much loved and very highly regarded colleague from the Science Department.
Ian passed away very peacefully, after a short illness, at his seaside home in Leigh on 27 May, 2011. His wife Jan and their extended family have our deepest sympathy as they begin to cope without this special person.
He will also be fondly remembered for his interesting lessons, keen wit, intellect and humanity, by a great number of students who were fortunate enough to have had Ian as a teacher or a Dean at some time in the last 12 years. Ian taught Science and Physics although he was a very capable mathematician and an avid marine biologist and underwater photographer.
