The Lewis Centre, Selwyn College Library & Information Centre.
The Centre is open everyday before school, during breaks and after school for homework. During class time, teachers may book their classes in, or students may be sent to the library for independent study.

We have a superb collection of fiction and non-fiction books as well as computers where students can access electronic resources such as Te Ara, EPIC and the Internet.

Our role is central to the learning community at Selwyn College. We provide facilities for you for reading, research and study.

Daily from 8.00am – 4.00pm*
*Except for Friday (8.00am – 3.10pm)

Borrowing books

To borrow from the library, you need your school ID card (you should bring this to school everyday).
Books are issued for 3 weeks. If you want to keep a book for longer, please bring it back to the issues desk to be renewed. If you think you have lost a book, report the problem as soon as possible. The sooner we know, the sooner we can help you solve the problem.
  • Never let other students use your ID card
  • Do not lend your books to other students
  • Books issued in your name are your responsibility.

Students have access to a black and white and colour printer.  To use the 'Print' option, students will need to have a minimum of $1 on their student accounts.  Students' accounts can be topped up by the Cashier at the Student Office.

A black and white/colour photocopier is also available in the library.  Students can use this by entering either their Student number or by using their ID Cards.  The cost of photocopying will be taken off their student account.
