Welcome to Multi-Materials Technology

Technology is assessed under 3 strands;

Technological Knowledge; under which students learn skills and develop an understanding of how and why things work, evaluating material properties and uses. Students also learn how functional modelling in either or both 2D and 3D is used to inform and evaluate design ideas and outcomes.

Technological Practice; adaptation and innovation are at the heart of technological practice. Students learn to consider ethics, legal requirements, protocols, codes of practice and the needs of and potential impacts on both stakeholders and the environment.

Nature of Technology;
students develop an understanding of how technology is socially embedded. To understand the impact technology has on past, present and how it will effect the future.

 Within these 3 strands are 8 learning objectives, students will be assessed against 2 AO's a term over soft and hard materials.
