The Junior Science courses in Year 9 and Year 10 cover a range of topics from multiple fields of Science, which combine together to give students an overall picture of what "Science" is and what it means to think scientifically. Students learn to plan and conduct experiments safely and how to use resources to find out unknown information.
Upon completing two years of Junior Science courses at Selwyn College, students will be prepared to undertake studies in Level 1 NCEA Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) or Level 1 Science Technology.
For more information on the topics covered at each year level in the junior school, please see the year planners and assessment statements in the "Resources" section to the right.
