Selwyn College is renowned for its exemplary Performing Arts programme. Many students relish the rich co-curricula learning and achievement gained from participation in our drama, dance and musical productions which take place during the year. This includes an annual major musical production.
MUSIC: We have a wide variety of music groups including brass ensemble, stage band, string ensemble, choir, jazz groups and rock bands. Subsidised instrumental tuition is available from qualified music tutors and instruments are available for hire - see the music department pages.
We have a strong and talented Kapa Haka group.
VISUAL ARTS:  There are also lots of activities around the Visual Arts for students to get involved in.  Keep an eye out for all the Art, Design and Photography Competitions that run throughout the year with substantial prizes and exposure for students.  Art clubs and community projects that we take on throughout the course of the year.
This year we have the Muka Youth Print exhibition returning - an opportunity for students to see and purchase art for a reasonable price.  At the end of term one we also have the Great Big Art Bus coming.  This is a movable gallery housing a large collection of contemporary New Zealand Art.  In term two we have two artists arriving for 5 weeks to work with the students and teachers towards an exhibition in the city.  Keep an eye out for this one!
