Dear Members of the Community
Many of you will be aware as of 20th January 2009, the Minister of Education dissolved the Board of Trustees at Selwyn College, and appointed me as Commissioner to act in place of the Board. As Commissioner, I am responsible for the school’s governance.
I have significant experience in secondary schools – including twelve years as principal of Carmel College and nine years on the executive of the Auckland Secondary School Principals Association – two years as chair. I have been Commissioner at two other schools – a secondary and an intermediate – and held Limited Statutory Manager and Specialist Adviser roles in a number of other schools.
I am very pleased to be able to work closely with your Principal Sheryll Ofner, who is a well-regarded leader of teaching and learning. I firmly support her focus on student learning and achievement.
